Corinthians president, Andrés Sanchez, granted a press conference on Thursday afternoon, at CT Joaquim Grava, and he commented on several matters that have surrounded the club the last days and months. He started speaking about the stadium in Itaquera, cited the return of the idol Tevez and finished with Jucilei's departure and William Magrão's possible arrival. Andrés even spoke about Ronaldo's return, joking, indeed.
The strongest statement was the one on the stadium in Itaquera, probable stage of the 2014 World Cup opening. The black-white leader is incredulous in the beginning of the works, since financial and bureaucratic problems have delayed the planning, foreseen for the beginning of March.
On Tevez, Andrés didn't beat around the bush. As the Argentinean player is linked to the Iranian businessman Kia Joorabchian, there is no chance. The reason is that Kia was protagonist in the disturbed relationship with the partner MSI in 2005 and 2006. The speculation on Carlitos' return came up after an interview of the businessman to TV Gazeta, in which he said the athlete wants to do so within two year time.
Check out Andrés Sanchez' main sentences below in the press conference on Thursday.
Stadium in Itaquera
"I urge that everyday, and everybody says: it is tomorrow. I was sure that the works would begin in March, but now they spoke April. I call on Rosenberg, the government, CBF... Despite love and passion, what is the problem of Brazil? Money. I am even convincing myself that it is just a dream."
Negotiation for Jucilei
"I'm going to explain Jucilei's situation in order to clear up doubts. Corinthians paid R$2 million for 50% of the midfielder. The 50% remaining belong to Corinthians Paranaense. But at the time I had to pay them the 50%, I negotiated 35% with a partner company and we got just 15%. Anyway, Corinthians Paranaense will give up 10 up to 15% they are entitled to. Therefore, we will get about 25 to 30% of the 10 million Euros of the negotiation."
Tevez in Corinthians
"While I am in Corinthians, that won't happen. They would send me to prison. Could one imagine Kia (Joorabchian), Andrés' friend, putting Tevez in Corinthians? The supporter will be very happy, but I won't be in peace."
Ronaldo's return
"I've been badly busy the last days, but next week I will try to convince him to play for Corinthians again (laughers)."
William Magrão
"I havent taken part in William Magrãos negotiation but, as long as I know, it is stuck. Weve got no partner. Perhaps there is one coming soon."*
